Reveal
A Little Wisdom on Prayer
Jesus thirsts for us and desires to reveal His love for us more deeply through prayer. Why are there so many barriers to prayer and how do we overcome them?
The evil one doesn’t want us to pray because he doesn’t want us to be loved by God. Why? Because God’s love is God’s Power. The enemy wants us weak. God wants to love us because God wants us strong. God’s love is God’s Power. That is why we never go a single day without a minimum of 10 minutes of prayer. God is our power source.
The evil one will attempt to make us feel bad about our prayer. He will also tell us our prayer must be perfect and without distraction. That is a lie to keep us from prayer. God works in the midst our mess. When you pray, visualize yourself as four-year-old lying comfortably in the lap of your Heavenly Father. He is just loving you there. Even if you are thinking about preparing dinner or completing laundry in the midst of prayer . . . He is still loving you. There are many ways for God to reveal Himself to us through prayer.
Eucharistic Adoration
Praying with the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ
One of the most powerful ways of prayer is Eucharistic Adoration. That is why our Builders take the time to be loved by Jesus during 45-minutes of Eucharistic Adoration at each KB Gathering. But Adoration can be done outside of a KB Gathering as well. One of the best ways it has been described is Radiation Therapy. Jesus’ Body radiates His love to our bodies.
“No one can fail to understand that the Divine Eucharist bestows upon the Christian people an incomparable dignity. Not only while the sacrifice is offered and the sacrament is received, but as long as the Eucharist is kept in our churches and oratories, Christ is truly the Emmanuel, that is, ‘God with us.’ Day and night He is in our midst, He dwells with us, full of grace and truth. He restores morality, nourishes, virtues, consoles the afflicted, strengthens the weak. He proposes His own example to those who come to Him that all may learn to be, like Himself, meek and humble of heart and to seek not their own interests but those of God.” St. Pope Paul VI
Here are some YouTube Links with Adoration. We encourage you to take your Smartphone and listen to the music and reflections (with earbuds) while being with our Eucharistic Lord.

Rosary
Praying with Mediation
The Rosary is a powerful way to meditate and pray. While Jesus was dying on the Cross, in His last breaths, He gave His mother to St. John the Beloved. “Behold, your mother.” John 19:27. Jesus gave her to each of us when He gave her to John. Even if we do not claim her as our mother, she claims us as her children. The Blessed Mother did not just have one child, Jesus gave her every child. We do not worship her. We honor her as our Mama and ask for her prayers from heaven.
“Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.” – St. Maximilian Kolbe

Lectio Divina
Praying with Scripture
Lectio Divina, or “divine reading” is a traditional way of listening and talking with God through Scripture. The Holy Spirit prompts thoughts about what we read and helps us talk to God about these thoughts. In this way, God speaks directly to our most personal concerns. That is prayer!

Visio Divina
Praying with Art
Visio Divina is Latin for "divine seeing" and is a way for praying with holy images. We are a very visually oriented culture, so this allows us an intentional way to use that gift to grow closer to God. It invites us to see deeply beyond initial ideas, judgments, or understandings and to be loved and transformed by God who is the perfect Divine Artist.

Praise and Worship Music
Praying with song
“Blessed be the name of the LORD both now and forever. From the rising of the sun to its setting let the name of the LORD be praised.” Psalm 113:2-3
Our hearts were made to praise God. Paul and Silas were stripped, beaten, and put in chains in the innermost cell with their feet secured to a stake. They were praying and singing hymns to God. An earthquake came and the doors flew open and their chains were all pulled loose (Acts 16:23-26). This is the power of praise. There is a gentle earthquake that happens within us when our soul praises God. It pulls loose all that is ugly, stressful, bruised, and broken. The doors of our hearts fly open and the Holy Spirit breathes His healing into us . . . giving us all that is good, beautiful, and true.
What if our voices are not good? When I would take my two-year-old daughter for walks, she would find little dandelions along the road. She wanted to bring them home for her daddy. She would chew and slobber on them as we would make our way back to the house. Once we arrived, all that was left was broken, slobbery stems. When she presented these gross drool bouquets to my husband, he was elated. He would admire each one because he knew the love in which they were offered. No matter how bad your vocal bouquet, your Heavenly Father knows the love you offer Him.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16
